Jury Duty

I was hoping that the case would be settled out of court and I wouldn't have to make the more than one hour trip to the County Courthouse. I served jury duty before in Spokane, WA., but the courthouse was only 10-15 minutes away.

I am told to be prepared to stay all day or for a number of consecutive days. Whoa, now! I'm hoping I will be able to come home. How would one prepare for something like this?

  1. I am so bored with the boys back at school, that I would jump at this chance!

Wait... do you have to be dressed? In a bra and everything??? I'll stick with Court tv- wave hi to me!

  3. Prepare by getting ahold of some really great books.

I loved jury duty, but i was in downtown Seattle and we got an hour and a half for lunch every day.

  4. Yes, I have a pile I've been wanting to read. I loved jury duty in Spokane also as I was able to walk a few blocks to Nordstroms during the lunch break.

I am just not looking forward to the long drive and the dress code. I seldom wear anything but jammies or jeans.

  5. I got called for jury duty three times while I was out of state for college (didn't have to go of course) but never since then. Hope it finishes quickly for you.

  6. My husband was summoned to jury duty last year. We cut short our vacation to be back in time, but the case was settled out of court and he didn't have to make the hour and six minute (more if you get behind a tractor on the two lane road) drive to the county courthouse. According to the summons I'm supposed to prepare to stay for a number of consecutive days. I'll stop whining now! I'm happy to do my civic duty.
